Poverty Vs. Development

 Intro Paragraph

This topic, Poverty vs. Development, is a very important topic and is shown throughout India. This problem began when the British Colonists came to India to colonize. After this everything changed in India's history. They started to develop British ways and new British Technology. While this was happening though thousands of Indians were left behind in there farm land and were completely unaffected. This continued until the British backed out and all this technology was popular in India. All the people that were left behind never learned how to use this technology and how to improve their business and went below the poverty line. There are thousands of Indians that are in poverty in cities and in rural areas across India. The reason Matt and I chose this topic was because it seemed to be one of the largest problems in India at the moment and is leaving thousands and thousands of Indians without homes, without money, and without a job. With this happening the poverty rate will continue to increase. We are trying to show how the development of India, because of the British, has changed India’s economy and leaves thousands of homeless people in poverty, and how this is leaving a huge whole in the heart of India.

The scenario is that there are two young students in school, one named Ehan, and and Fred, Fred is Modern, and Ehan is traditional!

Both walk to a Lunch Table...

Ehan: Hello Fred!

Fred: Hey Ehan...

Ehan: Did you do your math work?

Fred: Yeah, it was so hard I used a calculator!

Ehan: It wasn't hard, it was just adding and subtracting!

Fred: Yeah, so, calculators make it always right!

Ehan: Don't you want to learn how to add and subtract?

Fred Shrugs

Fred: Not really, all I want to do is get this done.

Ehan Shrugs at the thought :(

Ehan: Oh well... What do you have for lunch.

Fred: I have warmed up Taco Bell, and soda!

Ehan: EWWW, I have curry and brown rice, and nice refreshing water, your stuff is so modern and does not follow traditional food and what you should eat! Espeicially the beef in the tacos!!!

Fred: Whatever...

Ehan and Fred continue eating and talking...

Ehan: Look at the amazing new kurta pajama my mother made me.

Fred: WHY would you wear something like that, those things look like they are made for girls!

Ehan: It shows how I am a traditional Indian.

Fred: Well I hate how it looks!

Fred laughs

Fred: Look at my new GAP shirt, and my amazing new Levi Jeans.

Ehan: They do not follow what a Indian should be wearing.

Fred: But these are so cool, all the American kids are wearing them!

Ehan: Yes, but we are not American!

 

 

This shows how relavent poverty is in India and how it lives on modern cities.
